Dr. Saroj Kumar Mallick

Dr. Saroj Kumar Mallick is a seasoned professional in Veterinary and Animal Sciences with over 35 years of extensive experience in animal health care, livestock management, and extension services. He has served for nearly three decades in the Animal Resources Development (ARD) Department, Government of Odisha, where he held several professional and administrative positions and made significant contributions to veterinary services and rural animal health programs. In addition, he worked for about five years as Manager at OMFED and headed training institutes, contributing actively to livestock development and dairy management.
He possesses rich expertise in veterinary clinical services, livestock production, extension education, and animal health service management. His career demonstrates a strong commitment to field-level implementation of animal welfare programs and farmer-centric extension activities across Odisha. He has played a key role in advisory services to farmers and in the execution of government schemes aimed at improving livestock productivity and rural livelihoods.
Dr. Mallick has also contributed to academic research with publications focusing on livestock production and management, particularly in buffalo and goat systems under coastal conditions of Odisha. His work reflects practical, region-specific insights into animal husbandry practices.
Academically, he holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences (Livestock Production Management) from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, along with M.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.V.Sc. & A.H. degrees from the same institution, all secured with First Division. He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management (PGDAEM) from IMAGE, Bhubaneswar.
With a strong blend of academic excellence, administrative experience, and field expertise, Dr. Mallick continues to contribute to veterinary education, animal health services, and livestock-based rural development.
