Dr. Sougat Suman Setha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy, DRIEMS UNIVERSITY, bringing a robust blend of advanced academic training and specialized clinical expertise to the institution. He holds a Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T.) in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) in 2023. His professional and research interests are deeply rooted in intensive care unit (ICU) rehabilitation, focusing on early mobilization strategies, advanced airway clearance techniques, mechanical ventilation, and the precise assessment of respiratory functions. A dedicated researcher, he successfully led the cross-cultural adaptation, validity, and reliability study of the Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ) into the Odia language for his postgraduate thesis. His academic instruction is further enriched by comprehensive clinical rotations and internships across premier institutions, including SUM Hospitals, CARE Hospitals, and the Sports Science Center at Kalinga Stadium, allowing him to effectively bridge foundational exercise physiology with evidence-based clinical practice for his students.
