Equipment list

Seed Germinator

Provides a controlled environment of temperature, humidity, and light to determine the maximum germination percentage and viability of a seed lot under optimal conditions.

Double Ring Infiltrometer

Double Ring Infiltrometer is used to measure the vertical infiltration rate of water into the soil while the outer ring prevents lateral flow to ensure a more accurate, one-dimensional measurement.

Soil Augers

Soil Augers are hand-held tools used to drill into the ground to collect disturbed soil samples from specific depths for chemical and physical analysis (Screw/spiral, dutch, bucket, post-hole augers)

Electric Stirrer

Electric Stirrer (or mechanical shaker) is used to mechanically disperse soil aggregates into individual particles (sand, silt, and clay) by stirring the soil- water suspension with a dispersing agent to ensure accurate sedimentation for textural analysis

Double Distillation Assembly

Double Distillation Assembly is used to prepare high-purity distilled water by boiling a water source and condensing the steam, ensuring the water is free from mineral and microbial impurities for sensitive soil and plant chemical analyses.

Flame Photometer

Flame Photometer is used to measure the concentration of alkali and alkaline earth metals—primarily Potassium (K) and Sodium (Na)—in soil and plant extracts by measuring the intensity of light emitted when the sample is aspirated into a flame.

pH Meter

pH Meter is used to determine the active acidity or alkalinity of a soil-water suspension by measuring the hydrogen ion concentration to assess nutrient availability and chemical suitability for crops.

EC Meter

EC Meter (Electrical Conductivity meter) measures the ability of a soil-water extract to conduct electricity, which directly indicates the total soluble salt concentration and degree of soil salinity.
