The Discipline Committee of DRIEMS University is constituted to maintain a peaceful, safe, respectful, and academically conducive environment within the University campus. The Committee works towards promoting discipline, ethical conduct, mutual respect, and responsible behaviour among students, faculty members, and staff. It ensures that the rules and regulations of the University are properly followed and helps in developing a culture of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
The Discipline Committee shall monitor and address matters related to discipline within the University premises, including:
● Student behaviour inside classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, playgrounds, and campus premises.
● Maintenance of discipline during academic, cultural, sports, and official events.
● Prevention of ragging, bullying, harassment, violence, and misconduct.
● Protection and proper use of University property and infrastructure.
● Monitoring adherence to University rules, dress code, attendance, and code of conduct.
● Coordination with various departments and hostel authorities regarding disciplinary matters.
● Addressing complaints related to indiscipline and recommending appropriate action to the competent authority
● To maintain discipline and decorum within the University campus.
● To promote ethical behaviour, good conduct, and a sense of responsibility among students.
● To prevent incidents of indiscipline, misconduct, ragging, violence, or any activity affecting the academic atmosphere.
● To ensure a safe, secure, and student-friendly environment for learning and development.
● To create awareness regarding University rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
● To encourage respect towards faculty members, staff, fellow students, and University property.
● To take corrective and preventive measures in cases of disciplinary violations.
● To formulate and implement measures for maintaining discipline in the University.
● To monitor student conduct and ensure compliance with institutional rules and regulations.
● To enquire into cases of indiscipline, misconduct, or violation of University norms.
● To counsel students involved in disciplinary issues and guide them towards positive behaviour.
● To recommend disciplinary actions against individuals found violating University rules.
● To coordinate with Anti-Ragging Committee, Hostel Committee, Security Section, and other authorities when required.
● To maintain records of disciplinary cases and actions taken.
● To submit reports and recommendations to the University administration periodically.
