Dr. Biswaranjan Mohanty is a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy and serves as the Dean of Research at DRIEMS University. Dr. Mohanty has 22 years of teaching experience and 17 years of research experience. Before his current role, he was a Lecturer at Pharmacy College Barpali, Bargarh, Odisha (2002-2007); a Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor at Seemanta Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jharpokharia, Mayurbhanj, Odisha (2007-2017); and a Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at the Institute of Pharmacy & Technology, Salipur, Cuttack, Odisha (2017-2024). Dr. Mohanty graduated with a B.Pharm in 1995 from Kanak Manjari Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences under Sambalpur University. After completing his B.Pharm, he worked as a Production Officer with Themis Pharmaceutical Ltd, Vapi, Gujarat, and Ankur Drugs and Pharmaceuticals (P) Ltd (1997-2000). He holds a master's degree (2001) and a doctorate (2014) in Pharmacy from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Mohanty has guided over 50 B.Pharm projects, 24 M.Pharm students, and three Ph.D. students. Currently, he supervises two Ph.D. scholars. He has filed two Indian patents and has 80 publications to his credit, including 35 international papers, 10 national papers, five book chapters, and 30 conference abstracts at national and international levels. He has been invited to chair and evaluate scientific proceedings at various seminars and has organized numerous seminars and conferences. He is an active member of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). Dr. Mohanty's research focuses on the formulation development of various drug delivery systems such as oleogels, bigels, emulgels, and polymeric films for ocular, transdermal, and oral delivery.
