Institution's Innovation Council
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the DRIEMS University was established in the academic year 2021-2022.
Institute Innovation Council is an initiative of Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India. It is aimed at systematically fostering the culture of Innovation among all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by encouraging, inspiring and nurturing young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transforming them into prototypes while they are informative years.

Vision
To foster a dynamic, innovative, and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by systematically cultivating and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Mission
Our mission is to inspire and nurture young students by encouraging them to work on novel ideas, transform those ideas into valuable prototypes and successful start-ups, and build an innovation-driven ecosystem that fosters creativity and critical thinking.
Objective
The primary objective of IICs is to engage a large number of faculty, students, and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities, including:
- Ideation and problem-solving
- Proof of Concept (PoC) development
- Design Thinking workshops
- Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) training
- Project handling and management at pre-incubation/incubation stages
Function
To conduct various Innovation, IPR and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion.
Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.
