National Mushroom Day Celebrated with Great Fervour at DRIEMS University

The School of Agriculture, DRIEMS University, marked National Mushroom Day with vibrant participation, highlighting the practical and entrepreneurial potential of mushroom cultivation. Students demonstrated mushroom production techniques and shared insights from hands-on training under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manoranjan Mohapatra and Dr. Prateek Kumar Behera.
Adding a culinary dimension, students from the School of Hotel Management presented a range of innovative, value-added mushroom products, reflecting creativity and industry relevance.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor as Chief Guest, with Prof. (Dr.) Kailash Bihari Mahapatra as Chief Speaker and Sri Balaram Kar as Guest of Honour. Jointly organised by the School of Agriculture and the School of Hotel Management under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. K. Rout and Dr. Bikash Krushna Das, the event promoted sustainable agriculture, skill development, entrepreneurship, and culinary innovation.
