Equipment list

Digital pH meter

Digital pH meter Used to precisely measure and adjust the acidity or alkalinity of culture media and soil samples. This ensures optimal conditions for the growth of specific fungal or bacterial pathogens being studied.

Hot air oven

Hot air oven Primarily utilized for the dry heat sterilization of glassware like Petri dishes and pipettes to prevent cross- contamination. It is also used for drying plant samples at controlled temperatures for biomass or moisture analysis.

Single distillation unit

Single distillation unit Provides high-purity distilled water essential for preparing chemical reagents and nutrient culture media. This prevents mineral impurities or microorganisms in tap water from interfering with delicate pathological experiments.

Vertical autoclave

Vertical autoclave Uses high-pressure steam to achieve complete sterilization of culture media, plasticware, and contaminated laboratory waste. It is the “gold standard” for ensuring that all spores and hardy microbes are destroyed before and after use.

Monocular compoundmicroscope

The primary tool for observing the morphology of pathogens, such as fungal spores, bacterial cells, and nematodes. It allows pathologists to identify disease-causing agents based on their microscopic structures.

Hot plate

Used for uniform heating and stirring of liquids during the preparation of agar- based culture media or chemical solutions. The digital control allows for precise temperature management to avoid scorching sensitive nutrients.

BOD incubator

The primary tool for observing the morphology of pathogens, such as fungal spores, bacterial cells, and nematodes. It allows pathologists to identify disease-causing agents based on their microscopic structures.

Horizontal laminarairflow

Horizontal laminar airflow Creates a sterile, particle-free workspace by blowing HEPA- filtered air across the work surface toward the user. This is critical for aseptic techniques such as inoculating cultures and transferring plant tissues without environmental contamination.
