Prof. Shibabrata Mohapatra

Assistant Professor

Shibabrata Mohapatra is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical engineering Department, DRIEMS University, Cuttack, and Odisha. He has completed his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and M. Tech in Mechanical System Design from IGIT, Sarang and continuing Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience. His favourite teaching subjects include Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Physical Metallurgy and Materials, Machine Design, Machine Dynamics, Rapid Prototyping, Mechanical Vibration and Finite Element Method. His area of research includes composite materials, tribolgical behaviour of materials, finite element analysis of composite structures and functionally graded materials. He has published more than 6 research papers in national and international conferences and journals. He is involved in different academic activities such as organizing committee member in international conferences, co-ordinator of various FDPs, seminars and actively facing different accreditation activities. He has attended more than twenty five different programs such as a faculty development program, seminar and workshop in national and international level. In addition to his teaching and research activities,he is also working as departmental placement co-ordinator ,co-ordinator of admission committee, co-ordinator of Intellectual Property Rights Cell, member of Institution Industry Cell, co-ordinator of virtual Laboratory, member of prevention/counselling cell of DRIEMS University, member of anti-ragging committee and member of scholarship committee. He is the life member of ISTE, IAENG, AICTSD and SCRS.
