Students' Counselling Cell / Committee

          The Student Counselling Committee of DRIEMS University is established to provide guidance, counselling, and support services to students for their academic, personal, emotional, and career-related development. The Committee aims to create a positive and healthy learning environment by helping students overcome stress, anxiety, adjustment issues, and other challenges faced during their academic journey. It promotes mental well-being, self-confidence, discipline, and holistic development among students.

Scope

The scope of the Student Counselling Committee includes:

  ● Providing academic, personal, emotional, and career counselling support to students.
  ● Assisting students in managing stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and adjustment issues.
  ● Promoting mental health awareness and emotional well-being on the campus.
  ● Guiding students in developing positive behaviour, communication skills, and confidence.
  ● Conducting counselling sessions, workshops, seminars, and awareness programs.
  ● Identifying students facing academic or personal difficulties and providing appropriate support.
  ● Coordinating with parents, faculty members, and mentors whenever necessary for student welfare.

Objectives

  ● To help students cope with stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges.
  ● To create awareness regarding healthy lifestyle practices and positive mental health.
  ● To provide career guidance and motivation for future planning and development.
  ● To encourage students to maintain discipline, confidence, and self-esteem.
  ● To ensure a safe, supportive, and student-friendly campus environment.

Functions

  ● To provide confidential counselling and guidance services to students.
  ● To identify students facing academic, emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties and provide necessary assistance.
  ● To organize counselling programs, motivational sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns on mental health and well-being.
  ● To guide students in time management, stress management, examination preparation, and personality development.
  ● To provide career counselling and guidance regarding higher education and employment opportunities.
  ● To coordinate with faculty mentors, parents, and University authorities for the welfare of students when required.
  ● To encourage students to maintain positive relationships and healthy communication.
  ● To maintain records and reports of counselling activities conducted by the Committee.
  ● To recommend suitable measures for improving student support services and campus well-being.
  ● To promote a healthy, inclusive, and supportive educational atmosphere within the University.
