World Cancer Day Observed

World Cancer Day was observed on 04 February 2026 at Padmini Care Hospital, organized by the Medical Surgical Nursing Department, with the objective of creating awareness on cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of timely treatment.
The programme witnessed active participation from 4th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students, who conducted meaningful activities including a health talk, role play, and an awareness rally. An awareness rally was organized from the college to Padmini Care Hospital, spreading strong messages on cancer prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, and the need for early screening.
The programme also featured a health education session and an engaging role play that clearly explained common warning signs of cancer, myths and facts, and the importance of regular health check-ups. These activities helped in effectively connecting with the public and reinforcing awareness in a simple and impactful manner.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Loknath Behera, Director – Student Relations; Prof. Dr. Prathima Prakasam, Dean; Prof. N.
