Barrier Free Environment

Accessibility and Support for Differently-Abled Students at DRIEMS University

DRIEMS University is deeply committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment where disability is never a barrier to education or professional growth. We strive to ensure that all current and prospective students and staff, regardless of physical challenges, have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive within our campus community.

To support differently-abled students, the university offers a range of special facilities aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusion. Wheelchair facilities are available across departments and in the central library, promoting mobility and independence. Specially designed ramps and hand railings are installed at key locations, including main entrances and staircases, to assist students in navigating the campus safely and comfortably. Additionally, modified toilets are provided on the ground floor to accommodate the needs of students with physical disabilities.

During examinations, students who have difficulty writing are allowed the assistance of scribes, along with additional time to complete their papers—ensuring a fair and supportive assessment process. These initiatives reflect the university’s strong belief in dignity, equality, and respect for all individuals, reinforcing our mission to empower every student to achieve their full potential.
