DRIEMS University successfully organised “NAVODIT – Rise to Excellence,” the induction programme for the School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, on 10 October 2026 at the Padmini Auditorium. The programme marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for newly admitted students, welcoming them into the university’s academic community and introducing them to the values of excellence, discipline and professional service.
The programme commenced with the arrival of the distinguished guests, followed by the DRIEMS anthem, a welcome dance and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge, wisdom and new beginnings.
The occasion was graced by Dr. Durga Prasad Mishra, Dean, School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences; Prof. Lokanath Behera, Director, Student Relations; Prof. (Dr.) Nirupama Chayani, Director, School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences; Prof. (Dr.) Lucy Das; Prof. (Dr.) Sakti Prasad Das; Sj. Balaram Kar, Director, Administration; Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Krishna Nayak, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Umakanta Satpathy, Chief Guest; and Dr. Pramod Chandra Rath, Chairman, DRIEMS University.
Addressing the gathering, the distinguished speakers encouraged students to pursue academic excellence, maintain professional ethics and cultivate compassion, dedication and responsibility. They emphasised the importance of acquiring strong theoretical knowledge, practical skills and a service-oriented mindset to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector and contribute meaningfully to society.
A special felicitation ceremony was also organised in honour of the Chief Guest by the Chairman, Dr. Pramod Chandra Rath, reflecting the university’s respect and appreciation for distinguished contributions to education and society.
