DRIEMS University celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit, commemorating the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in the political integration of the nation.
The celebration was held in front of the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the university campus, paying tribute to his remarkable contribution to national integration and his enduring vision of a united, strong and prosperous India. The occasion highlighted the significance of unity, integrity, mutual respect and collective responsibility in building a harmonious nation.
The programme was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. S. J. Balaram Kar, Director – Administration; Prof. Lokanath Behera, Director – Student Relations; and Prof. Nirakar Sahu, whose presence added significance to the occasion.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Gourab Kumar Panda and Mr. Pabitra Nayak, with enthusiastic participation from students. The celebration provided an opportunity for students and members of the university community to reflect on the values of national unity, social harmony and the spirit of togetherness that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel championed throughout his life.
The observance concluded with a renewed commitment to upholding the ideals of unity, integrity and national pride, reinforcing the importance of collective efforts in nation-building.
