The School of Nursing, DRIEMS University, successfully organised an insightful empowerment session titled “When the Mind Says ‘I Can’t’: Understanding Stress, and Learning to Respond, Not React” on 16 October 2026 at Padmini Auditorium, DRIEMS University, Tangi, Odisha. The programme aimed to promote emotional well-being, self-awareness and mental resilience among students and faculty members.
The session was led by Mr. Prasanta Kumar Pradhan, International Facilitator, who shared valuable insights into understanding stress, managing emotional responses, developing a positive mindset and building the resilience necessary to navigate life’s challenges. Through his engaging and thought-provoking session, he encouraged participants to recognise their emotions, overcome self-doubt and approach difficult situations with greater confidence and clarity.
A key highlight of the session was the importance of pausing before reacting and responding to challenging circumstances with awareness, patience and emotional intelligence. The discussion emphasised that developing a balanced mindset and understanding one’s emotional triggers can contribute significantly to personal growth, effective communication and better decision-making in both academic and professional life.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Premalata Devi, Associate Dean, School of Nursing, along with assistant professors, faculty members and students. A felicitation ceremony was also organised to honour the resource person and express gratitude for his valuable contribution to the programme.
The programme concluded as a meaningful initiative towards nurturing emotional intelligence, strengthening mental resilience and encouraging a positive approach to life’s challenges. It reinforced the importance of self-awareness and thoughtful responses in building stronger individuals and healthier communities.
Through such initiatives, DRIEMS University continues to promote holistic student development, emotional well-being and personal empowerment alongside academic excellence.
