On the occasion of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2025 (18-24 Nov) the department of Microbiology celebrated the occasion. The program was inaugurated by Dr BN Mohapatra Dean & Principal,DIHSH, Mrs Nilanjana Managing director of Padmini care & director and HoD Microbiology Dr Nirupama Chayani mam .The department of Microbiology conducted a quiz competition for the 2nd year undergraduate MBBS students on the theme of AMR. Prizes were given. A walkathon was organised in which the 2nd year students along with faculties participated. The went around hospital premises spreading the message of rational use of antibiotics. A CME was also conducted in which speakers from various specialities spoke on Antimicrobial Awareness. Dr Sunita Sahu, consultant microbiology of Apollo hospital was the guest speaker who spoke on Infection control and Stewardship. A one act play was done by the students on the topic. Valedictory session was held to conclude the session. Also other speakers are Hod department of microbiology Dr Nirupama chayani spoke about how Antibiotic resistance spreads and affects us,Dr Naveen Medi spoke about rational use of antibiotics, Dr Debashis swain assistant professor department of community medicine speak about indian scenario of resistance of antibiotic and surveillance . Faculty of Department of microbiology Dr sudipti sahu, Dr satyaram satapathy,Dr Subhashree Mohapatra were instrumental in conduct of the cme.
