DRIEMS University observed World Entrepreneurs Day on 21 August 2026 with great enthusiasm, celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and purposeful ideas. The programme was organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), DRIEMS University, with the objective of inspiring students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and develop an innovative mindset.
The programme was graced by Chief Guest Er. Mahabir Biswal, Managing Director, Odisha Beverage Ltd., who shared valuable insights from his entrepreneurial journey and professional experience. Through an engaging and inspiring interaction with the students, he encouraged them to think differently, identify emerging opportunities, embrace challenges, and transform innovative ideas into meaningful and impactful ventures.
His session provided students with valuable exposure to the practical realities of entrepreneurship and highlighted the importance of vision, innovation, resilience, adaptability, and calculated risk-taking in building successful entrepreneurial ventures.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
The programme offered students an opportunity to understand entrepreneurship beyond the conventional idea of starting a business. The interaction emphasised the importance of identifying real-world problems, developing innovative solutions, creating value, and having the determination to transform ideas into sustainable initiatives.
The event was attended by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Kumar Hota, Prof. (Dr.) Biswaranjan Mohanty, Dean – Research, and Dr. Deepak Ranjan Biswal, Convenor, Institution’s Innovation Council & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Gourab Kumar Panda and Mr. Pabitra Nayak, Assistant Professors and Event Coordinators, along with faculty members and students, were also present and contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
