The School of Pharmacy, DRIEMS University, Tangi, Cuttack, Odisha, organized an interactive Faculty Development Programme (FDP) session on the functioning of the Training and Placement (T&P) Cell on 17 October 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Lalit Kumar Dwibedi, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, DRIEMS University, who brings two decades of industrial experience to academic and professional training.
The session aimed to strengthen the functioning of the Training and Placement Cell and enhance institutional efforts toward improving students’ employability and preparing them for career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and allied sectors.
Drawing on his extensive industrial experience, Mr. Dwibedi highlighted the importance of industry-oriented training, skill development, internships, industry–academia collaboration, soft skills, interview preparation and professional ethics. He emphasized the need to equip students with the practical knowledge, professional competencies and workplace readiness required to meet the evolving expectations of the pharmaceutical industry.
The interactive discussion also focused on developing a structured training calendar, systematically identifying students’ training requirements, ensuring effective coordination among faculty members, and implementing regular monitoring and evaluation of training and placement activities. These measures were discussed as essential steps toward establishing a more organized, outcome-oriented and effective Training and Placement Cell.
The programme provided a valuable platform for faculty members to exchange ideas, share professional insights and explore strategies for strengthening career development initiatives within the institution. The session concluded with a renewed commitment to enhancing Training and Placement Cell activities and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
