DRIEMS University has taken another significant step towards strengthening its entrepreneurship, innovation and startup ecosystem with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swabalambi Odisha. The MoU was signed at the O-Hub Startup Odisha Building, Chandaka Industrial Area, Bhubaneswar.
The collaboration is aimed at fostering a strong culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation and startup development among students, researchers and faculty members of DRIEMS University. Through this partnership, both organisations will explore joint initiatives, capacity-building programmes, mentorship opportunities, innovation activities and other ecosystem-driven interventions to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
Distinguished Representatives at the MoU Signing
The ceremony was graced by representatives of Swabalambi Odisha, including Mr. Sadashiba Mishra, Chairperson; CA Rajesh Kumar Pattanaik, Convenor & Treasurer; Mr. Jayant Kumar Das; and Ms. Sushree Subhralin Bharimal.
Representing DRIEMS University, the ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Kumar Hota, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Ramakanta Panigrahi, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mrs. Chinmayee Rath, Director, Coordination; Er. Shishir Kumar Sahoo, Deputy Registrar; Prof. Raghunath Sahu, Dean, School of Management; Prof. Alok Ranjan Biswal, Director, IQAC; Prof. Amulyaratna Behera, Dean, School of Management; and Mr. Sudhanshu Bhusan Kar, Secretary to the Director, Administration.
The collaboration was coordinated by Prof. Biswaranjan Mohanty, Dean, Research, DRIEMS University, and Prof. Pravat Kumar Sahoo, Director, DIPSAR, New Delhi. Their efforts played an important role in facilitating and strengthening this institutional partnership.
Strengthening the Startup and Innovation Ecosystem
The MoU marks an important milestone in DRIEMS University’s continued efforts to create an environment where innovative ideas can be nurtured, developed and transformed into impactful ventures. The collaboration will provide opportunities for students, researchers and faculty members to gain exposure to entrepreneurship, develop industry-relevant skills, receive mentorship and explore pathways towards building sustainable startups.
By connecting academic knowledge with entrepreneurial opportunities and ecosystem support, the partnership is expected to contribute to the development of an innovation-driven mindset among the university community.
